SharePoint 2010 has some visual enhancement comparing with its older counter parts and its easier to customize too.

Social Ribbon Controls - "I Like it" and "Tags & Notes"

These controls enable users to tag and rate items and to leave nores on web pages, including the users' My profile pages. Well its cool, but what if we want to disable it?

• Open the master page (v4.master) in SPDesigner
• Select the "All Site Content" link button
• Right Click to consult properties
• Change the permissions from "ViewFormPages" to "Edit List Items"
